Farah Zeynep Abdullah was born on August 17, 1989 in Besiktas, Istanbul, Turkey. Zeynep is a Turkish actress and singer. Farah moved to England when he was 15 years old.
Farah Zeynep’s mother, Gülay, is of Bosnian, Turkish (from Crimea) and Macedonian descent, while her father, Osman, is of Iraqi Turkmen descent (from Erbi Le). Her father immigrated to Türkiye when she was a child because of the war. She is of Turkish descent and does not understand Arabic. Even so, she managed military service in Iraq.
Farah received her secondary education at the Lycée Saint-Michel de France in Istanbul until her family moved to London where her father worked. In 2010, while studying at the University of Kent, Farah Zeynep Abdullah was offered a role in the Turkish TV series Öyle Bir Geçer Zaman Ki. She completed 2 full seasons and 79 episodes of the show. She also won the Antalya Television Award for Best Supporting Actress in 2011.
In 2013, Farah Zeynep appeared in Yilmaz Erdogan’s film “Butterfly Dream” (Kelebeğin Rüyası) together with Kıvanç Tatlıtuğ. It was selected as Turkey’s candidate film for the 2014 Academy Awards by Turkey’s Minister of Culture and Tourism. Farah won the 18th Sadri Aleshik Film and Drama Award for Best Supporting Actress for this role.
2014 was an extremely busy year for Farah. She starred in the Turkish film Bi Küçük Eylül Meselesi with Engin Akyurek. Photos from that movie were released on Valentine’s Day. Later, she starred for the second time in the Turkish TV series “Kurt Seyit ve Şura” with Kıvanç Tatlıtuğ.
That summer, she took no time off and filmed a musical romance film called Unutursam Fisilda with director Cagan Irmak. The character of Hatice Ayperi wowed audiences with her acting and singing talents, winning her various awards.
In 2015, she voiced Princess Tori in the Turkish version of Barbie: Princesses and Pop Stars. Also at the end of 2015, she completed her second film with director Yilmaz Erdogan, in which she played the role of “Muazzez” in the film “Eksi elmalar”. The film was released in Turkey on October 28, 2016, and in Europe in early November.
In late July 2016, gossip spread on social media about Farah joining the famous Turkish TV series Muhteşem Yüzyıl: Kösem. A few days later, Farah was confirmed to join the show, playing the Hungarian princess Falia Bethlen. The first episode of the series was broadcast on Turkish Fox TV on November 18, 2016.
In May 2017, singer Emir Ersoy released his new Latin rock album RocKuba, which includes multiple collaborations with Turkish singers and celebrities. Farah Zeynep Abdullah is the only person to have two song melodies on the album. The songs are Haydi gel içelim and a cover of the great Teoman classic Paramparça. The album was a huge success, reaching number one on many charts including Itunes.
On January 5, 2018, “Arif v 216” was released, in which Farah sang two of the hottest Ajda Pekan songs. Milyonzade and Boşvermişim Dünyaya.
Farah Zeynep Abdullah has been nominated and won several awards for his films, including the Siyad (Film Critics Society) Award, one of the most important awards in the Turkish film industry.
