Mohamed Amer is a Palestinian-American stand-up comedian and author. He is famous for his work and contributions to film. He is known for his comedy skills. He is best known for his role in the Netflix comedy special Moamir: The Bum.
In addition to his critically acclaimed performance in the three-part comedy Allah Made Me Funny, which ran for two seasons, he also starred alongside comedian Ramy Youssef in the Hulu sitcom Ramy as Ramy’s Muslim cousin Mo, who owns a diner. He will also have a role in the upcoming superhero film Black Adam.
Amir is of Palestinian descent. He is the youngest of six siblings. His father worked as an engineer for the Kuwait Petroleum Company. In 1990, during the Gulf War, he moved to the United States with his family. He studied there and earned a PhD in biochemistry.

When Amir was 10, his older brother took him to see Bill Cosby perform at the Astrodome in Houston. At the age of 14, Mohammad Amer became interested in stand-up comedy.
In 1999, M. Amer participated in the Houston Funniest Person contest and became a finalist. Another famous comedian guides him to Comedy Showroom, the best guided comedy room. Danny Martinez mentors and suggests considering stand-up comedy.
At 19, Amir fled to play ball with the U.S. Army overseas. At the time, he became the first and only Arab-American refugee comedian to perform for U.S. and coalition forces overseas.
