Sameera Reddy is a former Indian film actress who has primarily acted in Hindi films. She has also starred in many Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam films. She made her Bollywood debut with the film Maine Dil Tujhko Diya. She is widely recognized for her roles in films such as Musafir, Darna Mana Hai, Taxi Number 9211, Jai Chiranjeeva, Ashok, Varanam Aayiram, Race, Aakrosh, De Dana Dan, Vettai, Oru Maal Vaarum and Tezz.
Sameera Reddy was born on December 14, 1980, in Rajahmundry, Andhra Pradesh, India. Her mother, Nakshatra, is a microbiologist and works for an NGO. She has two elder sisters, Meghna Reddy, a former supermodel and VJ, and Sushama Reddy, a famous model and actress in the Bollywood film industry. Both her elder sisters are her older sisters. Sameera Reddy completed her schooling from Bombay Scottish School Mahim, Mumbai and obtained her graduation degree from Sydenham College. She describes herself as the “ugly duckling” of the family and a “tomboy”.
Samira Reddy made her debut in 1997 with Pankaj Udhas’ music video Aur Aahista. She was supposed to make her film debut in Saravana Subbiah’s Tamil film Citizen in the early 2000s, but it never happened. Sameera Reddy is a big fan of American talk show host Oprah Winfrey. She met Winfrey during a previous visit to India at a welcome party arranged by Parmeshwar Godrej. The TV personality was said to be mesmerized by her sari and before she left India, the actress gifted her a similar sari. Sameera Reddy married a well-known entrepreneur named Akshai Varde on January 21, 2014. It was a traditional Maharashtrian wedding. The couple had a son in 2015.
