Aaron Yoo is an American actor from Dallas, Texas. He is best known for his roles as Ronald “Ronnie” Chu in the film Disturbio (2007) and Russell Kwon in the science fiction series Tomorrow’s Man (TV series, 2013-14). He has a sister.

Yoo’s parents are Korean and moved from Edison to East Brunswick, N.J., when he was 8 years old. He attended East Brunswick High School, where he played cello in the orchestra. In 1997, he graduated. He then attended the University of Pennsylvania, where he graduated with a degree in theater in 2001 and became a member of the school’s Sigma Nu fraternity.

Profession

Aaron Yoo starred in the 2007 films American Pastime (2007), Crazy (2008), Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist (2008) and Labor Pains (2009), and had a role in the horror film Friday the 13th (2009). His appendix was removed shortly before Friday the 14th began filming, so his scenes could not be filmed immediately.

When he recovered and was ready to shoot, director Marcus Nispel immediately hung him upside down from some rafters, exposing the staples in his surgical wound, in order to film the character’s post-mortem sequence. In 2007, he co-starred in HBO’s comedy film Rocket Science, playing the title character’s best friend Heston.

Aaron Yoo’s stage work includes the opening of Christopher Shinn’s Where Do We Live, the anthology production of Savage Acts (both 2004) and Mac Wellman’s Cellophane (2003).

In his spare time, he practices DJing and pole vaulting. He is fluent in Korean and English.
