She is the daughter of Kimiye Trudy Long (mother), a Japanese-American who served as a member of the American Bible Society clerk, and worked as a dancer at the China Doll nightclub. Her father, Lawrence K. Long, was an immigrant to the United States from Australia who made a career as a tap dancer and later became a PGA professional golfer.
