David Adedeji Adeleke was born on November 21, 1992, in Atlanta, Georgia, United States.

His mother, Vero Adeleke, is a university lecturer while his father, Adedeji Adeleke, is a wealthy Nigerian businessman.

Davido is his father’s second son and the youngest of five children and attends the British International School in Lagos.

At the age of 16, he returned to the United States to study business administration at Oakwood University in Alabama.

While attending school at Oakwood, Davido acquired musical instruments and began making beats, co-founding the music group KB International with his cousins B-Red and Sina Rambo.

Davido moved to London to improve his singing skills after dropping out of Oakwood University to focus full-time on his music career.

In 2013, Davido started dating socialite, model and businesswoman Sophia Ajibola Momodu and on May 14, 2015, they gave birth to a daughter named Aurora Imade Adeleke.

Soon after the birth of their child, the two broke up. In the second half of 2015, Davido began dating news anchor Amanda Mandy Adeleke, a model and journalist.

On May 9, 2017, their daughter Hailey Veronica Adeleke was born, and the couple separated later that year.
