However, he took up acting again only after high school. He went to Wellington College (1986–1990) and Victoria University of Wellington for a year in the Bachelor of Arts program. While he was preparing for Victoria, he was offered a role in the soap opera Shortland Street (1992). He turned it down as he pursued his acting career. He had a guest role in White Fang (1993).
