In this article I will describe the scouting of locations for landscape photography. Our next trip with Peter will be to Tenerife where we will be wandering the island for a week in January. In order to find the best locations we need to do some research on the best places.

I find Instagram very useful, especially my favorite is the save and send options. You can create collections and save images in that pool. This little bookmark icon is all you need. The send option is pretty self-explanatory, using the airplane icon, you can send the post to your friends on Instagram. I always use the save feature to create collections for my upcoming trips.

The Sunsetwx website is a fairly new tool that predicts sunset and sunrise, while Suncalc predicts the direction of the sun. I tested it a few times and it works well for both sunrise and sunset. The way it calculates is by taking radar information about high and low clouds. Since low clouds block the horizon, light cannot pass through to depict the scene or the high clouds.
