Mir Sarwar is an emerging Indian actor who has acted in many Bollywood films. He started his career as a model in 1999 and later moved to theatre in Delhi and soon worked with several renowned directors like Bappi Bose and MK Raina in Delhi. Mir Sarwar also attended workshops at three national schools of drama. He travelled to Mumbai for look tests and meetings and settled in Mumbai permanently in 2014 and subsequently got the opportunity to act in two high-profile films, Phantom and Gremlins Brothers. Initially, he played the father of a missing Pakistani girl, Shahida, who returns to Pakistan under Salman Khan.
Mir Sarwar also starred in Kashmir Daily, a self-funded Kashmiri film project that took four years to complete. Sarwar is also passionate about making Kashmiri films and supports projects in the industry for free, with the goal of encouraging residents of the region to make films. He is currently directing a film in Srinagar titled BED NO.17, which will be screened at some film festivals.
In 2017, Mir Sarwar worked on Mani Ratnam’s Tamil film Kaatru Veliyidai, which was shot in Ladakh and Hyderabad. He successfully auditioned for the film but chose to give up his role in Naam Shabana due to schedule conflicts. His current film is Laila Majnu, a film shot in Kashmir by Imtiyaz Ali; he is currently working on multiple projects. Kesari will hit the screens on March 21, 2019, and Kedarnath will hit the screens on December 7.
