Krist Anthony Novoselic was born on May 16, 1965 in Compton, California.
He is the son of Croatian immigrants Kristo and Maria Novoselic. Novoselic lived in Compton for a year before his parents moved to the San Pedro neighborhood in Los Angeles, which is heavily populated by Croatians.
