Profession

As a freshman in 2012, he played in 11 of the team’s 12 games, missing only one due to an ankle injury.
Despite the injury, Diggs still led Maryland in receiving yards and receiving touchdowns and finished second to Duke Johnson for the ACC Rookie of the Year award.
He continued that momentum into his junior year, earning two All-Big Ten honors, and opted to forgo his senior year and declare for the 2015 draft.
Minnesota Vikings
In the 2015 NFL Draft, Stefon Diggs was selected in the fifth round (146th overall) by the Minnesota Vikings, one of the richest teams in the NFL.
He signed a four-year, $2.5 million contract with the Vikings that included a $227,000 signing bonus.
Although he didn’t play in the first three games of the season, he got his chance to shine in Week 4 against the Kansas City Chiefs.
Due to the success of this game, he officially became the starting wide receiver along with his teammate Mike Wallace.
This season, Diggs also became the first Vikings rookie since 1998 to have consecutive 100 and 80 receiving yards in his first three games.
With his outstanding skills, he was selected to the Professional Football Writers Association of America NFL All-Rookie Team in January 2016.
He led the Vikings in receptions and receiving yards at season’s end and was second in receiving yards behind only Raiders wide receiver Amari Cooper.
Make a name for yourself
Stefon Diggs continued his stellar performance during the 2016 season, setting a team record for most catches in a November game.
In Sam Bradford’s first game with the Vikings, Diggs set a career-high nine catches and 182 receiving yards to become the team’s offensive star.
In 2017, despite missing two consecutive games due to injury, he still finished the season with a strong performance.
He was dubbed the “Minneapolis Miracle” by fans after his 61-yard game-winning touchdown against the New Orleans Saints.
His relentless momentum and skills earned him a re-signing with the Vikings in 2018, earning him a five-year, $72 million contract extension.
The next year, Diggs caught seven passes against the Eagles, an NFL best, and scored a career-high three touchdowns.
Buffalo Bills
In March 2020, Stefon Diggs was traded to the Buffalo Bills in exchange for first-, fifth-, and sixth-round picks in the NFL Draft.
After developing a good rapport with franchise quarterback Josh Allen, Diggs made his September debut, catching eight passes for 86 yards.
By the end of that year, he was tied with Eric Moulds for the team’s most catches in a season at 100.
While he has always been a successful player, in 2020 he really accomplished enough to earn his first Pro Bowl invitation.
The following season, he was again selected to the Pro Bowl and finished the season with a career-high ten touchdowns.
Because Diggs proved to be a valuable asset, the Buffalo Bills signed him to a four-year, $96 million contract extension in 2022.
The success will continue in the 2023 season as he looks to extend his scoring record as one of the best wide receivers in the NFL.
