Supermix Studio – Life After the Shark Tank Spotlight

Supermix Studios is more than a brand, it’s a creative revolution in children’s fashion. Founded by Jennifer Stein-Bischoff, the startup claims to be the world’s first interactive custom clothing company for children. With a $1 million valuation and a recent appearance on Shark Tank, the future looks bright. Luckily for her, she struck a deal with Lori Greiner and Robert Herjavec.

Founder’s Story

Jennifer Stein-Bischoff’s childhood hobby of personalized clothing has blossomed into a career spanning more than two decades, working with fashion brands such as Tommy Hilfiger, Sean John and Aeropostale.

She made a major career transition from design director at GLO Jeans to vice president of women’s design at Aeropostale, and through Supermix Studios, she is applying that expertise to a platform that empowers kids to express their individuality through fashion.

Founded Supermix Studio

Opened in 2021, Supermix Studios offers two experiences: the Custom Shop and the Design Studio. The Custom Shop allows for easy personalization, while the Design Studio is a playground for kids to unleash their creativity, where they can decorate their garments with over 500 unique patches.

Supermix Studios is not only about fashion, it’s also about being environmentally conscious. By using Better Cotton Initiative (BCI) cotton and 100% recycled polyester to make its backpacks, the brand is at the forefront of sustainable fashion. Even the packaging is eco-friendly, made from recycled waste and printed with algae ink, ensuring the company’s carbon footprint is as small as the customers it serves.

After Shark Tank

When Supermix Studios’ episode aired on November 3, 2023, Jennifer revealed in an interview with SourcingJournal.com that sales had increased by 2,000%. Before Shark Tank, their website was getting 300 page views a day on a good day, which spiked to 19,000 on the night of the episode.

Given that Jennifer lowered her valuation from $2.5 million to $1 million, the deal may not go through. The royalties from the deal will tie up a significant amount of the company’s cash flow. She plans to use the cash to hire more employees, invest in its kiosk model, and expand its direct-to-consumer model.

On SupermixStudios.com, you can personalize jeans, sweatshirts, gift cards, and backpacks. The platform’s intuitive design interface, accessible via tablet or computer, lets kids become the designers of their own style.

With prices ranging from $45 to $69, and each product coming with 200 “patch dots,” creativity has never been more accessible. The company is actively seeking brand partnerships and has partnered with companies such as Mrs. Bench of Fidget Toys Plus and Zigazoo.

The site has a ton of five-star reviews from customers stating that what they created on their computer looked exactly like what they received in the mail. Supermix Studios is growing rapidly and they are looking to hire a graphic designer to enhance their brand.
