Johnny Lever is the first stand-up comedian in the Bollywood film industry and his career started here. Johnny made his Bollywood debut in 1984 with the film Dard Ka Rishta, an opportunity offered to him by Sunil Dutt, who noticed him through a charity project managed by Kalyanji-Anandji. In the 80s, he starred in films like Kasam, Jalwa, Kishen Kanhaiya, Khatarnak and Tezaab.
Johnny Lever’s biggest success was playing the role of servant Babulal in the movie Baazigar, and subsequently, he got many comedian and supporting roles in movies. Johnny is known for some eye-catching roles like Chotta Chattri, Aslam Bhai, etc. He has starred in more than 350 movies till now, a number that shows that he is undoubtedly the best comedian in Bollywood. Johnny Lever had his own show Johny Aala Re for a short time on Indian Television. In 2007, he was selected as a judge on the TV reality show Comedy Circus.
