Among all his films, three have won him the highest recognition and awards, namely, Aankhon Dekhi, Phas Gaya Re Obama and Masaan. Apart from acting, Sanjay Mishra has also directed the film Pranaam Walekum. He is married to Kiran Mishra and has two daughters, Lamha and Pal.
