Anjana Roy’s early life
Anjana Roy started her acting career with the Tamil film Vathikuchi in 2013. In 2014, she played the role of “Padmini” in the Tamil film Kabadam. In 2015, she also played the role of “Hanara” in the Malayalam film Picket 43. Apart from this, she has also acted in many famous TV series including Thari and Thazhampoo.
Anjana Roy’s acting career
Actress Angana Roy works in the South Indian film industry. Before pursuing a career in films, she went on to study business and finance and currently holds a Masters degree in the same. She has also worked as a Corporate HR Executive for a Fortune 500 company. She is also trained in traditional Hindustani music and is an avid sportsperson.
She built up a modelling resume, promoted various companies in India, walked the runway at numerous events, and was subsequently invited by film producer Manohar to act in his Tamil comedy Ragalepuram, starring Karunas. Before the film’s release, she began acting in Vathikuchi and AR Murugadoss’s film Kabadam. By June 2012, she agreed to start acting in Kannada and Telugu films.
In 2014, she played a nurse in Megha and a dual role in Kabadam. Her debut Malayalam film Picket 43, directed by Major Ravi, was her first release in 2015. She followed it up with a Tamil film Mahabalipuram, in which she played a “newly married office girl”.
She has acted in many Telugu films, including the much-anticipated Srimanthudu starring Mahesh Babu, directed by Koratala Siva. The film, like Baahubali, was a huge success in Telugu cinema. In 2016, she acted in two more Telugu films: Sri Sri (film), an official remake of a Marathi national film starring superstar Krishna, and an untitled film.
In 2016, she received two awards: the Mumbai Bharat Icon Awards and the title of Multilingual Actress for her outstanding performance in four languages in South Indian films. In 2017, the Chief Minister of Karnataka Siddaramaiah and the Mayor of Bengaluru Padmavathi awarded her the National Award for Woman Achievers for her long-term contribution to the fashion and modeling industry, as well as her efforts in films and social welfare.
She is also starring in a major serial on Colors Tamil TV’s prime time show and another project with Star Vijay which will be the TV station’s first fantasy series.
